I started drawing in 2020, or rather I started drawing again in 2020, after a very long break since my teens.
Self-taught, mostly by spending what felt like 24/7 in the old CD forum back in the day, learning from others and also making good connections with people from around the world. Some are even friends today.
It’s a slow learning process, it still is, but it's a good one.
There’s still a lot I want to figure out and it's a journey
I'm looking forward to, to be honest.
Since then I’ve worked on book covers, character designs, 2D animation and visual development.
I’m also working on my own animated short films and personal art projects.
I care a lot about keeping things handmade.
Especially now, with AI everywhere and things that feel soulless.
Drawing or painting by hand feels right, and more importantly, it's fun. Enough of a reason to keep doing it.
Below is a little process/portfolio section, where you can find everything art-related.
PIXELS AND PENCILS
Most of my drawings start on paper. Rough, quick, with pencil, ballpoint or ink. Once something clicks, I scan it and continue in Procreate or Photoshop, where I refine the sketch a bit, still keeping things loose.
Then I print it out and re-draw it on paper using a lightboard. That part can be tricky, trying to stay accurate without losing the original energy.
Final lines are done in ink. From there, I scan it again and move into Photoshop for color and lighting. I tend to work with small brushes, adding texture and detail step by step.
I like when it still feels like a drawing or painting,
once it's finished.
